A Haunted Masquerade: Halloween dance for KHP

Kyuu was at home, sitting on her bed. Today had been a nice day so far and she was looking forward the masquerade, to see so many of her good friends and have fun with them. She brushed her hair absently and looked out the window. The radio on her table was turned on so loud that she hardly heard her phone ringing. When she finally noticed it, she startled a little and quickly turned the radio off. "Oh it must be Will.." she thought as she grabbed her cell phone from the bedside table. "Hello", she said to the phone.

 

"uum....no? i was....reading...a book..on...maths?" She said idiotically,she hated maths...everyone knew that! But she really didn't like being lazy...otherwise people think she's completely useless at everything. Which she wasn't. She cupped her hands around her mouth to try and hide herself from yawning although she knew perfectly well that he could hear her. "So how long's it gonna take to get there?" she asked while looking out the frosty window. She used her finger and slowly began to draw a halloween pumpkin on the window. Her phone rang and broke the silence. "It's mum...blech" she ignored it, "I'll call her later". She began putting the finishing touches on her 'masterpeice'.

 

Ed chuckled. He noticed she ignored the call, which he didn't really approve of. "Its not that far really," He said, trying not to yawn himself, and failing. "See, you can already see the mansion." The mansion looked creepy. Really creepy. The entrance grounds were dark, and most of the trees looked dead or dying. Fog was creeping inches off of the ground.

The mansion itself however, looked fantastic. Lights could be seen in every window all the way to the third floor. The light drumming of music was emenating from what was prbably the ballroom. There were orange and purple lights showing the way to the parking area.

"Now this, is impressive." Ed managed through his awe. "Nice artwork, by the way." He said, noticing the pumpkin on the window.

 

Lily was completely oblivious to the compliment he had just given her. She couldn't get her head around it...the mansion looked huge and terrifiying! Amazing but...completely and utterly terrifiying. She couldn't begin to imagine what it must look like inside. She slumped back and sighed heavily. "We have to go in..there?" she gulped under her breath. She was never afraid of anything, insects, slimy things...she wouldn't even be afraid to jump off a bridge but knowing she would die she'd rather not. "They say it's...haunted..right?" she asked trying to sound as brave as she can. She couldn't help but shiver when she said haunted. She was actually thinking of jumping off a bridge right now. She could tell by his face that he wanted to go in.

 

Will smiled when Kyuu answered. "Hey, are you ready? I'm on my way to pick you up for the masquerade." He said, still grinning as he strode through the hallway and into the kitchen, cracking open a can of pop and grabbing a few slices of pizza from last night to eat before he left. He hadn't eaten all day and his stomach was grumbling loudly

 

Chris was excited for the masquerade. He didn't dance for a long time. He was going to go out with Hope. She was his best friend. The only problem was, he didn't have a mobile phone so he had to call her either by MSN or home phone and...her sister was in the room watching Hannah Montana.
"STUPID HANNAH MONTANA!" Chris thought. Chris then looked at her sister.
"Could you leave please, I want to call someone and you know how I am, when I call someone, while there's a person in the same room"
Chris' sister sighed and walked away.
"Thankyou! You can go watch it later"
"No worries, I've watched 100 times before anyway"
He looked on the computer and discovered she was online. He called her and it started to ring.

 

Spotting a local chemist, Gotcha quickly stopped by to grab a few things. He picked up a small deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste and the smallest mouthwash bottle available. All up it was $12.95 quoted the clerk.
The clerk quickly studied Gotcha's attire and asked "going somewhere special tonight?"
"Oh yeah, to that mansion yonder the hill there" Gotcha pointed out.
Lights were already starting to beam out of the mansion when they both looked. Gotcha quickly counted the change from his pocket to 2.95 and placed a 10 dollar bill underneath. He then proceeded to spray the deodorant on himself and then asked if there was a bathroom he could use to brush his teeth.
The friendly clerk allowed him to use the private staff bathroom in the back, he said the public one is too dirty of a place to brush your teeth.
After the whole ordeal, Gotcha quickly thanked the clerk for his kindness and proceeded to run to the Mansion. He was about to check the time, but was too afraid. He didn't want to know how late he was going to be.

 

DB had just finsihed getting ready for the masquerade.With mask on and all,he soon left his room and made his way to his car,entering it and starting his drive.On the way he saw someone running,in a full costume outfit with a mask."Maybe..."He said to himself before pulling a good deal in front of the runner and then pulling over to the side.He opened his door and shouted "Hey!You goin to the Masquerade at the mansion too?"to Gotcha.

 

Immediately coming to halt, Gotcha slid a good 5 feet along the ground and then faced the driver. "And here I was kind of hoping to make a fashionably late entrance" he joked.
He hopped in with no concerns and quickly introduced himself. He thought it funny if the driver was someone he had already known.

 

"Hi Will. I'm ready to go", Kyuu said cheerfully, "see you soon."
She quickly finished brushing her hair and put the mask on her face. She looked herself on the mirror and thought if she should have bought that black and purple dress instead of black and red. "Too late.." she said to herself, "this should be fine." she grabbed her handbag and sat back down on the bed, waiting for Will to come.

 

Ed chuckled a little, getting out of the car. He walked around to her side, and opened the door for her. "Yes, they do say its haunted," He said with a grin. "Not that you'd be afraid of ghosts right?"

Ed loved teasing Lily. It was one of his favourite passtimes. But he stayed nice about it.
He took her hand to lead her in, following the orange and purple lights to the entrance.

"Ready?" He asked expectantly.

 

Lily gulped...she stared up at the huge entance doors. "Nope..." Her head was still throbbing from hitting it against the wall and her thoughts about this place wasn't helping. She unintentionally tightened the grip on Ed's hand. The mansion looked much bigger and more intimidating up close.
"Age before beauty.." she said whilst gesturing for him to proceed, all the while keeping a huge fake cheesy grin on her face.

 

"Gotcha?Its me,DB!"Db said happily.He hadn't known who was going and was happy to know that he atleast knew someone who was going."Heh,why does that not surprise me that you were going to be late like that?"DB said.He was back on the road and they were getting close to the place where the masquerade would be.

 

"Indeed," Ed said, before leading her into the mansion.

The foyer was unimaginably beautiful. The Orange and purple lights outside wound all the way into the entry foyer. There were many doors on the first floor. Three on the left, and two on the right. The lights were leading into massive open door at the back of the room. There were two stairways leading to the second floor in this room. There was a small one on the left, and the one on the right was a spiral staircase, leading to what looked like platform of some sort. There were portraits lining the walls all the way around the room. They seemed almost alive. The lights made it harder to make out their faces, unfortunately.

There was no one in the room, but the music was coming from the large open door.

"Now this is my kinda place." Ed said, grinning sheepishly as he looked to Lily. "Lily, you're getting paler," He said, actually getting concerned. "Are you gonna be okay?"

 

Will mowed through the pizza before reaching the car. He finished the pop as he passed the trash can in front of his house, dropping the empty can into it. He went to his car and got in, setting the mask on the dashboard. He drove to Kyuu's house, honking as he pulled into the driveway.

 

Lily noticed the expression on Ed's face, he didn't look like he was joking "Seriously?" There was a huge mirror hanging in between two of the portraits. She studied her face carefully and noticed that she had gone pale...really pale. "ah...um...yeah I'm fine..well I feel ok..dont worry." She looked around. "This place looks awesome....but where is everybody?"

 

Toraa sped up into the parking area of the party. He opened his car door and slammed it shut behind him looking down towards the ground as he did it. He gently placed the mask he purchased onto his face and slowly began to look up. He look at the mansion and thought to himself, "Wow, this is my cup of tea, dark, lonely, and even a little scary. This mansion looks so supernatural." He turned the direction the orange and purple light were leading. He followed the lights into the foyer of the mansion. Toraa only stepped one or two steps into the doorway and noticed a girl and a bow standing in front of him talking. He was standing there long enough to hear the young lady dressed in a red and black dress ask, "Where is everybody?" Toraa opened his mouth to say, 'here i am' but they began to walk towards the large open door in the middle of the back wall. So, he gently closed his mouth and began to follow them, thinking to himself 'why didn't I say anything?'

 

If Gotcha was drinking something, this would be the part where he would spit it all out in laughter. Instead he let out a weird sneezing sound.
"DB?! Man does my day keep getting better, I'll at least know someone there" he commented. "Speaking of which, I wonder if the Trump man is still going?" Gotcha pulled out his phone and sent Trump a message regarding the Masquerade, but for all he knew, he may have already been there.

 

"Heh,if he told you he was goin,he probably is going."DB said before pulling onto the road that would get them to the mansion.Only a minute later they were at the place,and DB turned off the car."Looks like you wouldn't have had to run too much Gotcha."DB commented before opening his door and getting out of the car.
