is our government corrupt? all these past events seem sketchy...and which side is corrupt?

Both sides are blatantly corrupt because of the private companies that demonstrate both parties. Every major system in the world is biased.

Corruption is in our nature, after all.

This is not a hard one to answer. Our entire government is corrupt by power, the media, pride, prejudice, the list could go on forever. Some specific examples.
-Candidates for Political Positions lie and false promise all the time so they can get votes. Aka: Corruption
-The situation with Acorn (if you dont know about it then educate yourself->"Pimp Sting" Taints ACORN, Obama Supporters | NBC Washington) Basicly Acorn, an association who supports our president and who our president supports in return, thought that they were letting into our country a pimp, a prostitute, and fourteen year old prostitutes from outside the country. OK A- Pimping is illegal, B- I'm pretty sure its illegal to be bringing children across the border to be prostitute interns. Then when the reporter (the 'prostitute') came into light as a reporter, Acorn tried to justify themselves.
Honestly, The entire government is corrupt. Its just something you cant avoid. Kinda human nature.

In here every single politician is corrupt, and it's pretty damn obvious, nobody can do a thing about it though....

Here's something that should hopefully make you (the reader) think:

Is corruption truly a bad thing?

Sure it sounds bad, and when one thinks about it, they think of the bad things surrounding it. But have you ever once considered that corruption may have been used for a good thing? Like the corrupt person's goal being something that is beneficial to society. Maybe it has happened, maybe it hasn't. But consider for the moment, that maybe it can happen.

everybody has corruption and power does bring it out more, but the government shouldn't do that, i had power and i was corrupted by it so i know, but to me to be corrupted is like being a snob. and desert i kinda agree with you i mean yes if corruption can do that than we would be in a better place but to bad is't not.

that's a really good post desert warrior. maybe it could happen that way. As for me corruption is power.... beyond your power. people try to reach for that power not matter what they have to do and eventually lose sight of themselves in that quest for power. To me the goverment is both. corrupted yet somewhat pure if you know what i mean. They say they're here for the people yet they also abuse their power to do outrageous things.

How is corruption beneficial to society? Maybe it's beneficial to a certain 'class' of society, usually being the richer levels, including their own families and business partners.

But corruption is essentially a bad thing. That's what happens when you let power overwhelm you to the point where you become much more biased in making decisions instead of weighing things out. Or at least, seeing more clearly.

I agree, As human beings we all posses , in a sense, a balance of good and evil within us. You can call it what ever you want, the soul, a scale, the id and ego, i dont care, but it exists within us this balance. In life each human tips the scale one way or the other based on their experience and actions in this life.
But knowing that we all start and 99.999999999% of us end with that piece of "evil" or ego or whatever within us, corruption on so many levels is inevitable. It may start when your a kid stealing the last cookie out of the cookie jar, or as a politican representative of the people selling off their vote to corporations. The point is that it exists, and the sooner each and everyone of us truly realizes that something within each of us is wrong, the sooner we can get rid of it, we can fight it, and hopefully beat it throughout our lifetime. I'm not perfect, I'm not trying to say all of this like I am perfect and I'm telling you all what to do. I am saying this because it is fact, and the evidence is all around you, and if you are so blind as to say I am wrong, If you are so blind to say that nothing beyond this universe exists, and if you are so blind as to say there is no god, then you are lost in hopelessness of the "ego", the "darkside", "sin", watever you want to call it....you are lost.
Common sense and logic are a tool to unsolving the basic foudation of this knowledge and truth. Use it, we all posses common sense and logic...

Yes, most if not all are, but some who are caught up in all the bs are also trying to fight it.

corruption is a bad thing. the word corruption is the negative spin off of Chaos. I think what your trying to say is "is Chaos a bad thing?", because some people want to assosciate Chaos with freedom and one's own will, and all of that, but corruption and freedom are on polar opposite spectrums of the word "Chaos" Desert, they arent the same thing. Corruption is bad.

agree with you Autopsy, we come from two seperate sides, you the liberal, me the independent, but all of this is a great topic that we can agree on.
    Corruption = bad.
    Corruption kills people.

I wasn't asking that. I suppose it was more of a philisophical question or a rhetorical question.

and what was your answer? How is corruption in any logical or moral sense a "good thing", or beneficial to society??

    Rhetorical questions don't have answers.

But from what I asked, it isn't exactly something that people normally think of. It all depends on how you view things, logical or not.

everyone has their own answer. What is your own personal belief or answer to your "rhetorical" question?? Rhetorical questions are questions asked that the questioner already knows the answer to. So, what is your answer??

I don't know. I suppose that corruption could be used in a certain way that might have positive effects. I doubt it has ever happened, and I doubt it ever will happen. But I don't doubt it is a slight possibility.
