I'll say this. I think the war was something that was a good thing, however I don't think it's been handled as well as it could be. And as much as I agree with us having gone, I also agree that we need to start figuring out how to get out.

I also believe that the press has blown it out of proportion. Every single death has been hailed as a national tragedy. Every one almost has been reported. But if you compare this to almost every other war we've ever had, this ain't that bad. Now I don't mean to be-little the sacrifices made by those who have died. Their families have my deepest sympathies, and I'd like to give a big thank you to anyone who is serving or has served. I'm too much of a coward to serve even if I was eligible, which I'm not. I have the greatest respect for the military. I'm just showing things in perspective.

And finally, I don't believe for one second that we went to Iraq for oil. Anyone with half a brain can see that. If we're profiting off this war by getting oil, then why are the gas prices still high as hell and still going up? If we are getting oil, I damn well want to at least see the benefit of that acquisition. Since I don't, I don't believe it.

To be honest, I feel the war is completely pointless at this point. If we stay in now, who knows how long it will take before we mess up things even worse than they are in Iraq. We'd be better off giving them back their country now. Why? Because the damage wouldn't be nearly as bad as it could be if we stay.

We could leave, and the damage would be essentially the same either way. The only reason why we're still there isn't because we're trying to win, I don't think. It really profits our bank owners here in America. Since it's privately owned, the war causes the public to make even more loans from the central bank, increasing the bankers profits. So in fact, I do believe the U.S. is losing horribly; both in Iraq and here at home.

    But, meh.

The war in Iraq has been one of the greatest aids Iraq has ever had. We overthrew a dictator, and the quality of life there has improved greatly. Don't believe that filth that the media tells you because we have helped. A lot. The media just knows that bad things mean more ratings.

Now then, I agree with Al. We need to get out. Our economy has been messed up so bad because of it, that staying down there any longer will have America in a serious situation. The value of our dollar (which already is low) will be practically worthless. If we can't afford to buy things, then we won't be very powerful anymore. And we have a lot of enemies. Enemies with things that go boom.

The truth is, whether they're ready or not, they'll never be ready as long as we stay and take care of everything for them. It's not a matter of whether we should have gone in the first place. Or a matter of it just being too dangerous over there. It's not all that large of a conflict. There have been plenty of people who died in service that you never hear about, because the missions they died on weren't as highly publicized as the War in Iraq. We hear about every death because the media wants to laud every death as a national tragedy and each deceased soldier as a national hero as a way to boost their ratings. They're basically capitalizing off of these people's deaths, and I wish more of those soldiers' families saw that, and didn't play along. My cousin served in Iraq, may be doing so now, I dunno. I'm always behind on family news. But if my cousin were to be killed in service, I would be angry as hell to see the press profiting off my cousin's death like they have so many other deaths in Iraq.
