Powers?

Tom looked behind him and then back at Leah. "We need to get going." He picked Leah up. "Come on. I'll protect you." He still had the shield in his hand. He looked around, preparing himself for anything.

 

Sleif smiled, as the sword only hit a barrier around his neck.
"You won't be able to kill me fools" he said, as they left the room. He snapped his fingers and two cheetahs with dark spotty skin appeared beside him.
"Chase after them. Devour both of the idiots"
The cheetahs growled in agreement and chased after their prey. More cheetahs appeared behind them. Soon they became a pack.

 

"Great. Savanna cats." Tom muttered as he heard the animals growl. "Come on... Teleport... Teleport." Tom was trying to get them to teleport away. Anywhere would be better than here. He heard the cats running through the halls. One of them leaped at Tom and Leah.

As soon as the cat would have tackled Tom and Leah, they dissapeared. The cat crashed into a wall.

Tom looked around when he could see clearly. They were on a beach. "Dang... Where did I go?"

 

A man in white clothes drifted from the water and landed infront of Leah and Tom. A radiance of light was glwoing around his aura and the smell of vanilla filled the air. His body was covered by clothing. He had a necklace that was in the shape of a swirl.
"This world is in great danger. The smoke has spread throughout London and soon will go upto Birmingham. Also New York has fallen. The American government has sealed all exits out of the city for fear of radiation. It is not radiation. It is the darkness' power. Soon, Sleif will lose control of the darkness and it will expand by itself. It will make it's own entity and will devour the world....unless you awaken the childrens' powers. You must seal the passage between the magic world and the modern world. You must defeat the darkness first before sealing the passage or the world will soon be turned to doom. The problem is though, that the darkness is simply too powerful to fight, at the children of powers' current abilities. You must awaken their powers by aquairing 4 ancient artifacts spread throughout the world. Ila's Lantern for the child of light, the Staff of Nalef for the child of Energy, Grile's Hammer for the child of destruction and the Nathahala Stone for the other child"
His mouth could be seen and he was frowning. He looked saddened and a white tear fell to the sand. The sweet smell of vanilla increased.
"When you collect all these artifacts, you will be able to face the darkness and seal the passage for a thousand years. This is a cycle that has been passed down century per century. Once this process is performed, the world will return to normal. They will forget everything to do with the smoke and the chaos that has taken place over the past few days. The children of power will not. Neither will their friends"

 

Tom easily understood what to do. "Okay. Can you tell me where these artifacts are? Or at least who exaclty has powers and which artifact goes to who? Since I teleported here, am I one of the children with powers?" Tom wondered who this new stranger was. It seemed everywhere they turned, somebody new appeared.

 

As she saw Alex's tear, she felt sorrow. When he hugged her, she hugged him back. She felt some sympathy. Then she had tears from her eyes.
"Yes Alex. What do you want me to promise?" she asked Alex as she hugged him tightly.
The she was feeling some kind of pain inside.
"I'll promise anything with you, Alex," said Alexis

 

"Promise me, that you will never do anything drastic. Promise me that you'll be with me through this journey. If you-"
His voice stopped, not wanting to say the "d" word.
"....I would never forgive myself, if I let you get hurt. I don't want to lose you..."
He held her tightly. He was afraid. He was afraid for Alexis and his friends. He was afraid of the darkness.

The oracle crossed his arms, knowledgeably
"The children of powers are of your friends. That is all I can say for now. You are their leader. You are the person, who will lead them to the items. I gave you your abilities for this reason. Your impeccable intelligence is what will turn the tides against the darkness. Your second question is difficult. I have only found two artifacts, in my lifetime. The staff is located in the Merlin's Tomb. To get to it, you need to follow an underground passage inside the lion statue of Trafalgar Square. The keyhole of this underground pathway has been revealed on the lion's statue. I created it. Here's the key"
The oracle passed Tom, a key that sparked blue, as Tom held it.
"Now, the second artifact I found, was the Lantern. It's owner Ila used to live in the magical world but moved over to Paris, wanting to adjust to human life. She stored all her powers inside the lantern and placed it inside her cellar. The house is now abandoned and no-one has lived in it for 200 years. No-one found the lantern, until I discovered it. I placed magical enchantments around the area, to protect it. The problem is, I can't remember how to disable them. You'll have to go through my enchantments and fight through"
He sighed and walked upto Tom.
"When you have all 4 items, they will go to their respected owners. You also need to know that they will activate, when the time comes"
He held his shoulders.
"I have one last thing to tell you. The reason why you have your powers is because...you're my son"

 

As Alexis, was about to say something, Alex noticed a boulder about to fall ontop of her. He jumped and lunged at her, getting her out of the way. He looked at Nicole and the others.
"We have to get out of New York. It's not safe here"
Alex grabbed Alexis' hand and started to run.

 

Nicole got up and helped her parents and waited for everyone to get out. She looked back waiting for everyone. Once everyone was out she guarded the back and they headed out. She kept running then looked.

"AHH!" Nicole yelled seeing the golem throwing a rock at her. She disappeared though and reappared infront of her parents. She looked around.

"How did I?" She asked starting to run again. They got down to the subway. They went down to walkway holding onto the rail. She walked between her parents feeling weak from before and the all of a sudden teleportation. She then tripped and fell down on the track.

"Nicole, you need to get up here." Nicole's father called. Nicole looked up and was o weak to. She couldn't stand. Suddenly a loud squak was heard as a bird man came flying down the path. Nicole looked and tried to run away before getting grabbed.

 

Novek ran up with his sword and slashed the creature away. "I'm not gonna sit back when my friends are in danger! Alex, you said we need to get out of New York but where to? There's no way out with these creatures! We have a better chance of fighting them off!" Just then the golem threw another boulder. "Move!"

 

Ruan aimed his rifle, held his breath and fired, the bullet tore through the head of the Birdman as it grabbed Nicole. “I guess it’s somewhat effective “He smiled to himself.

The Golem however was a different story, He was bearly able to get out of the way of the bolder.

“You Ruined My Home!” Ruan fired at the golems head it stumbled backwards into the apartment. “SELF DISTRUCT” the last command Ruan would ever give his masterpiece of a home.
There was a massive implosion ripping the golem in half."That was to easy." There was a roar up ahead.

Who knew Golems travelled in pairs? The golem up ahead appeared to be in a blind rage now.'Why did I have to open my big mouth?'

 

Alex looked at Novek and frowned.
"We have to move out of the city. I think the cloud is only overhanging in New York. Is there a train that goes from New York, to another town?"
Suddenly Alex's hand brightened a ripple of water appeared onto the dirty stone floor. Alex grew tired and felt his body fade with energy. His eyes turned bloodshot and his skin turned pale. The water shown a reflection. It was the reflection of the Eiffel Tower. He turned to Novek.
"I think we have to jump into it. I think it will lead us to Paris" he said, faintly. He yawned and felt as though, he was going to go to sleep. He started to close his eyes and drift to sleep. He almost fell over but he opened his eyes.

 

"You think?" Novek was thinking up other possibilites, none came. Novek grunted in frustration. "If we don't make it, I blame you." Novek leapt into the image and vanished. He appeared on the ground about five yards away from the Eiffel Tower. Novek looked around before checking to see if all of him was there. "It worked? It worked!" He quickly looked around. "And no monsters! Oh thank god. I've got pick my friends better..."

 

"Son?" Tom asked, confused. "So then my whole life.... I've been adopted." Tom looked around the beach. "Where are we? When we teleported, I didn't think of where to go. Lucky I ended up here and not in outer space."

 

Nicole fell to the ground and smacked her head off the rail. She rubbed her head.

"Nicole!" Her mother called. Her father climbed down and helped his daughter up carring her.

"Alex wasn't it, I want you to go and take my daughter, we're going to stay here. I used to be a detective before Nicole was born, so I may be able to figure some stuff out here, I'll let you know." Her father said. He looked down at his daughter now unconcious. HE gave Alex her sleeping weak body.

 

He looked at him.
"You are in the magic world. This is my sanctuary. My name is Peter Sulio. They named this beach after me, after I saved a town from being killed by a squadron of Sleif's soldiers"
He took off his hood and smiled at his son.


"I have to keep this world stable so I can't go with you. Good luck, son"
He blinked his eyes, three times and they disappeared in white light and reappeared beside Novek.

Alex looked at Alexis, while holding Nicole in his arms.
"Let's go"
They jumped inside the portal and stood in Paris.

 

"Tom? Leah? Where'd you two come from? And what happened? A golem smashed the house so we couldn't see what was going on." Novek saw Nicole and Alex show up. "So now what do we do?" Novek had no idea. His mind was overwhelmed by what was going on.

 

"Please tell me we're at either Trafalgar Square or Paris." Tom said. "We need to be at one of those two places. We're going treasure hunting." Tom kinda smiled with that comment. "Oh, and it's somewhat of a long story about what happened. I teleported someplace, and now we got teleported here. Where is here?"
