    Who cares about adverts or domains when you can have a good forum?

    I rather pay for VB, since it has more features.

    You obviously don't understand the intricacies of managing a forum.
    Who cares about adverts and domains?
    Your users, thats who. Having a subdomain and a forum covered in adverts means you aren't going to get many users at all.

    On top of which you don't have access to any mySQL databases or forum php files so your forum is fundamentally crippled.

    Just a little advertising, organization and good graphics and staff and you have yourself a good forum.

    I was talking about free forum software.

    If I were to pay, I'd get VB. It is much better than that IPB crap.

    PHPBB forums can be good due to them being offered for free in the first place. no need for huge advertisements all over the place. its admin panel is still basic but can get the job done with an experienced coder and admin.

    If you have operated a IPB and an IPBFree you would agree with me.

    Again, no it isn't. That software there isn't the full IPB, it's a much limited license. As I previously also said, they are both essentially the same and it boils down to personal preference. Neither is "Crap".

    Phpbb sucks. Gaia is only good because it's so modded, one doesn't even know it's phpbb.

    Ok, no double post please. Use the editing button, it's use for good reasons T_T lol.

    I think it's time for a new layout yes. I don't know how long this has been though. If there where a poll, to change the layout soon, I would go for yes.

    I'm not going to bother reading that thread. That forum is IPB so it's pretty obvious the majority prefer IPB.

    I just read the first post. It's true, they're both the best software on the net.

    So let's just make a truce and agree that this is only about personal taste. I prefer VB and you prefer IPB. Truce?
