1.Well, basically, I believe that God is truth. So truth makes facts. Yes, I know this goes on to what the individual believes, but then again, what we think is what we believe. I didn't mean anything against your beliefs. I appologize for that.

2.Actually, science says other wise. Heck, Earth is in a vacum. And so is light. Light, interestingly enough, has no mass. So yes, God is in a vacuum. Who said He needed mass to be somewhere?

3.But I ask you this. Is a minor allowed to join the service without a parent's consent? Is a minor allowed to donate blood without a parent's consent? Is a minor allowed to get a driver's liscence without a parent's consent? The answer (at least in America) is no. So why should a minor be allowed to abort without a parent's consent when they're not allowed to do something less serious without a parent's consent?

4.Good answer. Not exactly what I would have answered, but I think it get's the point across.

    1. No problem, everyone is entitled to their beliefs :)

    2. Maybe you think he is, but I don't :p Again, down to beliefs :)

    3. Cause I think it's a more serious issue. I think people would take abortion more seriously over donating blood any day

    4.

Okay. But since it's a more serious issue, don't you think they should require the parent's consent. I agree that it's a more serious issue compared to donating blood. Heck, I think you shouldn't need a parent's consent to donate blood. What I wonder is why do minors need parent's consent about trivial things (like watching a movie that's rated R), compared to not needing their consent to get an abortion.

Good point. I just don't think the parents should have a right to interfere. If the person sat down and told their parents that they needed the abortion or w/e and that they would pay for it, then I guess it would be ok. But, most young people couldn't afford that, so if the parents pay I guess it's up to them truly

But there are free clinics where people can get abortions without needing to pay. And if the parents are very responsible (it's really hard for me to explain what I mean. Please bear with me.), why shouldn't they interfere? They probably know what is better for the minor than the minor does.

I'm sure that part makes people made. I wouldn't be suprised if somebody who read that is saying 'I know what's good and bad for me more than my parents do!' But, if the parents are responsible (as stated above), then they would know what's better and be looking out for the minor. They would be aware how it could effect the minor. They'd be looking out further into the future than the minor.

And to show I'm not being a hyppocrite, I admit that there are plenty things that my parents would know what is good for me, where I wouldn't. Heck, I don't know lots of stuff that is good or bad for me.

Free? Really? Well if that was the case I suppose if the person told their parents it was for the best and they would get it done then I suppose it would be down to the person and not their parents

But like I said before. The person may or may not know what's good for her. How many teens do you think truly know what is good for them?

Not a lot, sadly. Or maybe that's a good thing :p

Uh, I believe a woman should have control over her own body. If she wants to abort, then let her abort. What's so wrong about that?

Dude above me, I agree but if someone has children recklessly not carrying about what happens to the child. I think it should have some restrictions put on it.

That's your opinion, and I respect it. :)

But unfortunately, this is the debate forum. So, I'm gonna have to disagree.

It's the woman's body, she should make her own decision. If she doesn't want the baby, and someone doesn't allow her to abort, what will she do? Treat the baby wrong its entire life? Put it up to adoption? Really, being an orphan isn't easy.

I used to be an orphan myself. And that's not a very good life.

I was expecting for you to to disagree.

I'm sorry about the whole orphan thing.

But if a woman were to have careless sex for whatever reason yet knowing she could have an abortion anytime. That's rather abusive to the whole abortion concept, for those who actual have a reason for an abortion.

If a woman had careless sex and got pregnant, it would be negatively ironic that she would abort. But let's think about the baby's mental health, not the "morals". If the woman doesn't want the baby, it's kinda improbable that she will in the future. So if she doesn't want the baby, she could mistreat it. Or if she puts it up for abortion, the baby won't have a very happy life.

There could be that case, but there are also many cases where unwanted children are wanted later on.

So by killing the child you are stopping it from living its life.

You're not really killing anyone, it's a fetus.

She can have the baby and give it away to someone else. It isn't that hard giving it out to someone else to take care of it. Why there should be abortion if their are other options?

It could have grown into a human life. So in theory your stopping that from happening.

EDIT: my post is for Ryan, Loco beat me to posting and i cant be bothered to quote.

Because, the fact that that person isn't its parent could destroy the poor child's mind.

For ninja vengeance: One question: If you were to have sex, would you use a condom?

Hmm very personal question to answer on a public forum.

But i would have to say yes, would you?

And if you are trying to take this where i think you are, contraception doesn't totally stop pregnancy.

By using a condom you are preventing the woman from getting pregnant, which is the same thing as preventing life from happening.
