Dot Hack//G.U.

Will strode into his house, dropping his back next to the door. "I'm home!" He called to his mother, jogging upstairs. She wasn't home, as usual. He went to his computer and started it up, clicking on his favorite game. It was called The World. His friend Tom had gotten him hooked three weeks ago. He logged onto the delta server, landing in a desolate town.

 

Alastor---------------------

Alastor rose from his bed. The suns light that shone through his rooms windows said it was well into the afternoon. It was a good thing he didn't have classes for the next two days. It would allow for him to stay up all night and mess with more coding for his site. First things first though, his stomach was growling and he needed to eat. Tossing off the covers he walked across the lenght of his room and opened the door. The wooden floor boards were cold against his bare feet, but he knew he'd get used to it eventually. Heading down the stairs he skipped a step or two to get him down faster. Once at the bottom he paused and listened. An erriee silence crept over the house. His parents weren't home.
"Another business trip..." Alastor sighed and headed for the kitchen. The wood flooring gave way to polished white marble tiles, and they felt even colder on his feet than the wood. Just a minute to fix a sandwich and Alastor was ready to head back to his room when something caught his eye.
A small box sat on the table at the other end of the room. Taking a bit of his newly made turkey sandwich, he made his way over to the oak table and bent over to look at the box.
In bold white lettering it read "The 'World' R:2" and Alastor nearly choked. His parents knew he wasn't a big gamer, so why would they buy this? A small paper hidden beneath the box revealed that it wasn't his parents, but his friend Eric who lived eight blocks over. Swallowing what was left of the bite he had taken, Alastor picked the box up and carried it back to his room. It'd be rude of him to just flat out deny playing it, and he wasn't big on being a jerk either.
When he was finally back in his room he shut the door and took two long strides over to his computer and pulled back the chair. Setting the box on the desk he then opened a drawer and pulled out a small box cutter. Being careful not to cut too deep, Alastor opened the box and began installing The 'World'.
When it was time to install the disks though, Alastor nearly cursed. It was all in Japanese! Damn Eric and his imported games! After searching through the options he found a translator and switched the program to english.
A message popped up on his screen, it was from Eric instructing him on how to create a character. After a while, Alastor had finally created his character Semio.
"Maybe this will be fun." He said to himself in a unsure voice while placing the visiual headset on and took up the controlers.
The main screen began loading his character into an area called Delta server Mac Anu.

 

(If you think is level is to high then I can adjust it but I figured it would be nice to have someone strong in levels amongst the Epitaph users and the fact I doubt he'd be successful enough to be known amongst other players at level 10 or 20....)
Antony walked into his room dropping his school bags on his bed and changed into his casual clothes. "Time to see how my character is doing and get back to what I do best."
He slid his new M2D display on and started the world logging in as Zaria. A level 40 steam gunner appeared in Mac Anu and looked around enjoying the graphics and watched as noob and pros alike passed him by.

 

William entered Mac Anu, looking around for any enemies. "Nothing... wonder where Tom is..." He muttered, striding around the town.

 

"So you know the drill, right?" The red headed said softly.

"Yeah, it is simple, kill." Another voice replied back.

Out from the shadows, stood a beauty. Silky black hair, greenish blue kimono. A giant katana by her hips and an elegant white kyubki mask.

"Go, Quiet Assassin!"

Her mission was simple, kill new members. She was the beast of the world, Katsumi, "The Quiet Assassin." No one knew her true idenity. Noobs fear her and admins can't find her cause of her unqiue mask.

"Time to kill." She said loudly.

 

Will turned, going to draw his sword and shield. He didn't know who the girl was but he was a level 26, not that easy to kill. He readied for combat, staring at the girl.

 

Nicole headed up stairs and began creating the character.

"Ok so I just follow the instructions Tom gave me at school and log on to the game and stuff and oh cool, ok looks like I'm all set." Nicole said putting on teh head set. She appeared in the root town and began walking around. She sighed.

Her characters name was Star in the game, she needed to find Tom to learn about everything. Then she saw him.

"Hey!" She called running over to him.

"So I'm finally all set up." Star/ Nicole said to Tom.

 

OOC: I am somewhere far from you.

IC: Using her skills, she slayed down four noobies. All where around level three. Now when they long on, they should read Crimson post on the Boards.

"Paradise: A Paradise From PKs."

Katsumi smiled with glee. They're weren't tough. How could they be? They just started the game. Katsumi was on a whole different playing field. Did she feel bad for not picking on members who are the same level as her? No. Cause she felt the pain once. She knew how it feels to be down on. Well, not Katsumi, but Megumi.

Taking off her mask, as she return into town, her face was flawless. Makeup was good, and her eyes. One blue and one red, a nod to her mother, who has left Megumi alone, until Crimson came into her gaming life.

Crimson promise Megumi that no one will pick on her again, and it is true. Katsumi is one of the high ranks PK. Using her Neko Mask, a special mask Crimson made for her, she could be able to hide in the game. No one will find out who she is. She can hide in the chats or hide in the dugeons. As long as
Neko Mask was with her. It is like she have two ideneties.

Mac Anu wasn't that special, but this was where her guild was located. Paradise, A Guild For Noobs. It promise them everything. If noobs felt threaten, then they can call for help. And if they are lucky, they can request Katsumi or even better Crimson.

"You hear, Quiet Assassin is back." Katsumi over heard the converstation.

"Yeah, that is a shame. Why do people ruin the game for us?" Another girl ask. She was a Shadow Warlock. Pathetic, Katsumi thought, but the converstation was interesting.

"Yeah, this time she got four of them, a whole party! WTF?" The Haverst Cleric complained.

"I Know. This is stupid, she is the reason, I want to quit the game. I know I am not at high level as her, but damn, she is so mean. She give us girl bad names!"

"Hey, I know why you feel that way. I do too! But that is why Paradise is here!"

"Oh! That guild, yeah, I was thinking of joining it! I heard that they can protect you, it is like they have eyes everywhere! Plus, I heard Kat-sensei, is really good. She is strong, pretty, and powerful. She can beat Quiet Assassin anyday!"

Katsumi smiled as her name was being spoken.

"Let's go join!" With that the two mages went further into Mac Anu looking for the guild.

"Well done, Katsumi! I am impress." Crimson smiled. She was another one of the great beauties in the world. Wearing a red outfit, it matches her firey hair. And with her blade on her side, she was a confident woman.

"So, I guess I did what you say." Katsumi smiled.

"Yeah, and look we have new members. We reach 10,000 members now. That is like 1/4 of the World Members. Keep up the good work." Crimson smiled.

"So you never told me, the story of your blade." Katsumi spoke.

"Oh, this old thing?" Crimson pointed to her katana. The sheath was pitch black and it had an engraving of a dragon on it, holding a black jewel. "It was from the BETA World."

"Yeah, I forgot, you where a BETA tester. Are you old or something? The BETA came out a while ago."

Crimson redden and smile, "Think of me as your older sister."

"So what is the next mission?" Katsumi asked. She couldn't wait to use her sword again. She was tried of slaying the same monster everyday. Slaying humans was more fun. At least they talk.

"Not yet. You got to rest." Crimson smiled.

Katsumi laughed at that comment, "I love wielding this thing." She said, patting her katana. Katsumi's katana has twice her character size. It was long and deadly. Good fo long range attack and when it is close, it is deadly. Her katana was forge by Crimson. Called the Trinity Twilight Tower, it was made, by reconstructing the old weapon data of the BETA world.

Katsumi knew that Crimson worked for C.C. Corp., the company who came up with the world, but she didn't like call Crimson her boss. She wanted a friend.

"I guess I log out for now them. P.M. mission. I got to do homework." Katsumi said. With that she log out leaving Crimson alone on the bridge.

"Foolish girl, doesn't know what she is getting herself into." With that, the black orb on her katana began to glow. Something sinster was about to happen.

 

"Yeah, so you said you were going to show me around and help me get stronger." Star looked at Tom and all around. She crossed her arms waiting for Tom's reply.

 

Will ran up to Tom. "Hey man, where were you? Thought we agreed to meet in the dark forest? Oh, hey Nicole... or..." He checked the member list. "Star, I see." He said, still grinning.

 

"Hey, oh ok I got the invite. Alright so now what?" Star asked Tom and looked over at Will. She crossed her arms and waited to find out why Will was looking for Tom. She looked at the gate.

 

Will accepted the invite and joined them, entering the field. "I remember this place... first boss, giant bug. That was fun." He chuckled, drawing his sword and shield.

 

Will grinned. "C'mon Tom, if she starts to drop we can save her. Besides, I have heal. Just got it the other day." He said, flipping the sword a bit.
